Julie, Craig, and Caden/ Portland Family Photography

After a rainy weekend, what a treat to head over to wine country on a gorgeous evening to photograph Julie, Craig, and Caden. Youngberg Hill Vineyards provided a beautiful backdrop, not to mention they have yummy wine! While the sun was fierce I think we managed to come away with some really sweet shots. Enjoy your preview guys!

A little serendipity...

With nothing on the calendar to do this morning, my son and I headed out to scout an orchard south of Portland to see if maybe it'd be a good spot to have sessions. After realizing that the "orchard" was little more than a bunch of baby pear trees and hardly photogenic, we meandered back to town. On the way, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a sign for Jenkins Estate, a 68 acre estate surrounded by beautiful gardens near Beaverton. Somehow in all of my interenet searching for locations around Portland, I never came across this one. I'm sure a lot of you Oregoneans may know about it, but if not, it's worth the short drive to see it. Luckily I had brought the camera with me and Quin was up for an impromtu session. These are some of my favorites...

There was a big beautiful house with a huge porch on the front. Unfortunately it wasn't open this morning, but Q took a look anyway. This was taken with the 50mm at 400, 1.8, 1/800 . I've been working on shooting wide open since I love doing it, but man it take some practice to get things sharp. I could have easily gotten away with 200 ISO but alas, I forgot to change my settings after coming out of the shade.

This was at ISO 200, 2.5, 1/200

The heart was already on the window, a perfect photo opp.
